Who Knows About Our Lillie (Horner) Carlisle?

One of the mysteries in our family is the story behind the seemingly ill-fated marriage of John Edward Carlisle and his young wife, Lillias Ann (Horner) Carlisle who died in Denver, Colorado. "Lillie" was the mother of my maternal grandmother, Pearl Eleanor (Carlisle) Smith, and apparently died when Pearl was a very young child.
